The Salmon Arm SilverBacks are regretfully informing fans that the team will not have its usual radio broadcast for this weekend; and that diligent efforts are being made to find a replacement for the January 18th road contest, in Penticton.
This; after SilverBacks voice Brett Mix resigned from his position with the organization due to personal reasons.
The organization will continue to broadcast home games from the Shaw Centre, for the remainder of the season, and into the Playoffs.
'Backs GM and Head Coach Troy Mick says the news puts the team in a difficult position "We've had staffing issues with our broadcasting position on a couple of occasions this year, and with the season drawing to a close, we felt it would be better to focus our efforts on finding a full-time, experienced broadcaster for next season, instead of rushing to fill the position for the remainder of the season."
The organization apologizes for the inconvenience and will make opposing broadcast links available to fans while the team is on the road this Weekend, ensuring that 'Backs fans don't miss a minute of action; even if it does come from the other side of the puck.
