Mitchell Named Player Of The Week

Marcus Mitchell (2)(COURTESY OF BCHL) The BCHL has announced Salmon Arm Silverbacks forward #24 Marcus Mitchell has been named the BCHL Player of the Week for the week ending October 9th, 2016.

Mitchell led the ‘Backs to a pair of wins in as many nights and piled up seven points along the way. The 6-foot-2, 186-pound native of Kelowna, B.C. started his week with a goal and three assists and the game’s 1st Star in a 5-3 road win over West Kelowna. He was 1st Star again the next night for his two goals and one assist in a 6-3 home win over Surrey.

Turning 18 on Wednesday, Mitchell almost tripled his season points output with his seven-point week and now has 4-7-11 on the season.
