Manson Handed Top Award

Former BCHLers Josh Manson and Mario Puskarich have been recognized by Hockey East as they announced their All-Rookie Team and seven individual awards. Manson won the Old Time Hockey Best Defensive Defenseman award and Puskarich was a unanimous choice for the rookie squad.

Manson, who is the captain at Northeastern in his junior year, had a team high plus-12 rating and helped the Huskies win ten more games than they did the previous season. The native of Prince Albert, Sask. spent two season in the BCHL with the Salmon Arm SilverBacks and put up 47 points in 57 games in his final year in the league.

Puskarich, in his first season at Vermont, led all freshmen in goals (13), points (19) and game-winning goals (4). He also led the conference in shots per game (4.25) among all skaters. The 21-year-old from Fort Walton Beach, Florida led the BCHL in scoring last year with 89 points in his second season with the Langley Rivermen.
