Just Short In Port Alberni

Adam Clark was good for 26 saves on Saturday night, but it wasn't enough for the Salmon Arm SilverBacks, who gave up three goals in the 3rd Period in a 4-2 loss at the hands of the Alberni Valley Bulldogs.

Each team grabbed a power-play goal in the first 5 minutes of the game; with the Bulldog's marker going to Darian Henry, while Salmon Arm's Landon Smith tied the contest less than three minutes later.

The SilverBacks managed 17 shots in the 2nd Period, but the 'Dogs Connor LaCouvee was equal to the challenge, as both teams failed to score in the frame.

Albeni Valley went ahead 2-1, early in the 3rd, thanks to Scott Clark, before Salmon Arm's 2nd year Forward Evan Anderson scored his 17th of the season, on a play from Cole McCaskill, to even the score at 2-2.

The Bulldogs took their final lead of the night on a power-play marker by Mitch Owsley, with an empty netter moments later for a 4-2 final.

Salmon Arm ends its three game road trip in Cowichan Valley, on Sunday, with eyes on home games next weekend against Alberni Valley, and Vernon.
