Hockey Ops Preparing For Future Of ‘Backs

The Salmon Arm SilverBacks are excited to announce that the organization will be hosting three separate Spring Evaluation Camps, during the off-season.

Those dates begin in Salmon Arm, where the first Spring Camp will take place from May 2nd – 4th, at the Shaw Centre, before SilverBacks Hockey Operation's Staff head south of the border; for camps that run from May 16th – 18th, and May 30th – June 1st, in Simi Valley, California, and Denver, Colorado, respectively.

SilverBacks Head Coach, and General Manager Troy Mick says having Camps in three different locations will allow his staff a good look at a list of players from across the continent "Last year was our first foray into California for a Spring Camp, and we found a lot of positives in that experience; along with exceptional players such as Taylor Maruya, and Thomas Plese.”

Mick says three Colorado faces on the current roster make the trip to Denver one to be excited about “Landon Smith, Evan Anderson, & Andrew Farny have been extremely important players for us, this season, so we felt Colorado would be a natural addition to our search for talent in the U.S.A.”

He says those three players will be involved in the process, too “They will be helping us out at camp and sharing what the SilverBacks organization has done for them and we’re very excited to able to build on the experience that started last Spring. We hope to have a plenty of prospective SilverBacks at all of our evaluation Camps."

Mick says there will be plenty of eyes on these three Camps, noting that the entire 'Backs Coaching and Hockey Operations staff will be involved in these unique experiences "We will have our Head Scout Larry Black, Associate Head Coach Brandon West, and Associate Coaches Kevin Kraus, and Eric Godard on hand; attending players can be sure that they will receive a full Junior 'A' Camp experience by attending one of these events."
