GM & Operations Manager Christensen Extended

Salmon Arm, B.C. — The Salmon Arm Silverbacks are excited to announce that general manager and operations manager Brooks Christensen has signed a two-year extension.

Christensen, 30, has quickly climbed the ladder within the organization, first joining the Backs in 2015 as an assistant coach, before shifting to the business side as marketing director in 2017, and then getting promoted to operations manager for the Silverbacks in 2018. In November of 2019, the Salmon Arm native added the role of general manager.

“On behalf of myself and our partnership group at Salmon Arm Sports Inc, we are thrilled to have Brooks continuing with the Silverbacks organization,” Silverbacks managing partner Dale Unruh said. “We recognize his dedication and hard work has played a big part in creating a winning culture and a first-class Junior A hockey program in Salmon Arm.  Brooks is an integral part of our organization and we hope it continues for many years to come.”

Christensen is thankful for the opportunity.

“I’m extremely grateful to be staying with this great organization and fantastic community,” he said. “I’d like to thank the ownership group for putting their trust in me to continue our goal of making this organization the best it can be and I’d like to thank the entire staff here for everything they do on a daily basis to make this program better.

“I’m excited to continue working with our great community, our arena staff, all our corporate partners and of course, our amazing fans!”
