Salmon Arm B.C. — The Salmon Arm Silverbacks are thrilled to announce the commitment of 17-year-old defenceman Lynden Hanvold for the 2021-22 BCHL season.
The Kelowna, B.C. native suited up for Okanagan Hockey Academy’s U-18 Prep team in Penticton the past two seasons, recording 12 points (2G, 10A) in 34 games as a 15-year-old in the 2019-20 season, followed by five points (5A) in eight games in the shortened 2020-21 season.
“Lynden is a good, young defenceman with strong skating ability, which will lead to lots of success in the BC Hockey League,” Silverbacks head coach Tyler Shattock said. “We look forward to working with him for the next few years and are excited about his future in Salmon Arm.”
Hanvold served as an assistant captain this past season for OHA. His 12 points in the 2019-20 season ranked top-10 amongst 2004-born defenceman in the entire Canadian Sports School Hockey League’s prep division. The left-shot blueliner was a 10th round pick of the Vancouver Giants in the 2019 WHL Bantam Draft.
The Silverbacks would like to welcome Lynden to Salmon Arm!
