Backs Set To Host Wild At Home For Game 7

Game Seven. Two Words. Win or Go Home. The Salmon Arm Silverbacks and Wenatchee Wild will battle tonight to decide who moves onto Round 2 of the BCHL Shaw Playoffs. This is the first Game 7 since 2006-07 for the Backs when they defeated the Prince George Spruce Kings on home ice. For the Wild, it’s their first since the 2018-19 Playoffs when they defeated the West Kelowna Warriors in Round 1. Hunter Hastings is the only active player from that series. To say this series has been a rollercoaster of emotions for both sides would be an understatement. It looked like the Silverbacks were in control of the series after winning the first two at home in convincing fashion outscoring Wenatchee 12-5. However, the Wild stormed back, winning Games 3 and 4, sending the series back to Salmon Arm. The Silverbacks won Game 5 by the score of 5-1, which meant they had an opportunity to advance to the second round with a win in Game 6 in Wenatchee. The game was there for the taking for the Backs as it was tied 1-1 heading into the third period. But the Wild came out flying to begin the third with three goals in the first five minutes and went on to win the game 5-1. Every home team has won in this series. The Silverbacks earned that right to host the 7th and deciding game with their impressive regular season, finishing second in the BCHL. The Silverbacks are looking to bounce back in Game 7 and punch their ticket to the second round. Puck drop is at 6:00 PM.
