‘Backs Lack OT Magic

Another close game from the Shaw Centre, on Sunday, as the SilverBacks went to double over-time against the Prince George Spruce Kings; only to fall by a score of 3-2.

The 'Backs opened the scoring in the 1st period, at 12:38, when Connor Brown-Maloski was credited for his 3rd goal of the year; as the puck trickled over the Prince George goal-line.

In the 2nd period, the 'Backs out-shot PG 11-4, but gave up the period's only goal when Jeremiah Luedke scored to tie the game at 1-1.

Landon Smith continued his unbelievable year, as he netted his 15th goal of the season, giving the Backs a 2-1 lead, late in the 3rd period. Unfortunately Salmon Arm took a penalty with 3 minutes left, and PG's Karan Toor made no mistake; with a wrist-shot to the back of the net – with only 90 seconds remaining in regulation.

After one OT period; nothing was settled; as the Backs failed to score on a 4 on 3 man advantage. In the 2nd OT the Game-Winner went to Brogan O'Brien, the home-town PG rookie got his 3rd of the year, burying a one-timer past Adam Clark.

With 3 of 4 possible points this Weekend, the 'Backs now turn their attention to Tuesday's contest at Royal Le Page Place in West Kelowna.
