Salmon Arm, B.C. — The Salmon Arm Silverbacks host their most heated division rival this evening at the Shaw Centre, taking on the Vernon Vipers in their third exhibition game.
It is the first meeting between the two since last spring’s Interior Division quarterfinal, which the Vipers won in five games. The Backs’ have a 1-0-1 record so far in the pre-season, defeating the West Kelowna Warriors last Friday night 2-1 on the road before falling to the Warriors 6-5 in overtime on Saturday. The second game saw Salmon Arm erase a four-goal deficit to force overtime.
The Vipers have only played one pre-season game thus far, losing 3-2 to the Alberta Junior Hockey League’s Grand Prairie Storm.
