‘Backs Get Another American Commitment

The Salmon Arm SilverBacks are very excited to announced that 18 year old American Forward Sam Lafferty has committed to the Salmon Arm SilverBacks, for the 2014-15 Campaign.

Lafferty is a native of Holidaysburg, Pennsylvania, and has spent the past three seasons playing at Deerfield Academy in Deerfield, Massachusetts, where his play earned him an Scholarship at the Brown University of the NCAA.

SilverBacks GM and Head Coach Troy Mick says that Lafferty is a born leader, and will fit right in with the SilverBacks "Sam wore the 'C' with his team at Deerfield, and we feel that his leadership abilities will be of huge benefit to our team, next season."

Lafferty has posted 95 points over 75 games in three seasons at Deerfield Academy, and the 6'1 Center has been increasing his offensive totals each season; ahead of his stint with the 'Backs.

Mick says the addition of Lafferty will help the SilverBacks up-front "We lose players to Universities each season; and we really feel that adding Lafferty will help keep us from missing a step offensively, next season. He's a very skilled player, and we're extremely excited to say he's a SilverBack"

The 'Backs would like to officially welcome, Sam, and his family to the 'Backs organization, we look forward to seeing you in the Fall.
