Backs Announce Departure of Day

Salmon Arm, B.C.— Salmon Arm Silverbacks Marketing Director Russell Day has accepted another career opportunity in his hometown of Vernon and will be leaving the organization. His last day with the Silverbacks will be March 26.

Day took on the role of Marketing Director in the summer of 2019, after graduating from Camosun College in Victoria, B.C. with a degree in sports management.

“It has been a pleasure to have Russell working with us. Since he arrived, we have taken steps in the right direction towards our goal as an organization,” Silverbacks general manager Brooks Christensen said. “I’d like to thank Russell for his commitment to the Silverbacks and the Salmon Arm community. We wish him all the best in his new opportunity!”

Day said he is grateful for the time he had with the Backs.

“I just want to thank the Salmon Arm Silverbacks for giving me this opportunity to further my career. It has been a pleasure over the past two years to work alongside such a great team,” Day said. “Thank you to all our sponsors. The support you have all showed the Silverbacks is truly amazing. Thank you to the community of Salmon Arm for all you do to support the team and for making me feel at home here in Salmon Arm.”

Before joining the Backs, the Vernon, B.C. native had a decade of experience in the golf industry, as he worked 10 years at the Vernon Golf and Country Club.

The Silverbacks will be announcing a new marketing director in the coming weeks.
