Backs Add Forward Recine from CCHL

Salmon Arm B.C. — The Salmon Arm Silverbacks are pleased to announce the addition of 18-year-old forward Julian Recine from the Central Canadian Hockey League’s Ottawa Jr. Senators for the remainder of the season.

Recine, from Stittsville, Ont., registered 20 goals and added 30 assists for 50 points last season split between the Kanata Lasers and the Jr. Senators. Those 50 points were the second-most amongst U-18 players in the entire CCHL.

“We’re excited to add a player who can step in right away and contribute offensively,” Silverbacks head coach Tyler Shattock said. “Julian is not only a proven scorer at the Jr. A level, but he’s also an incredibly hard worker.”

The right-shot forward spent a year at Lake Forest Academy in 2018-19, where he was teammates with current Backs d-man Lucas Matta. Recine finished fourth on the team in USHS-Prep action with 44 points in 41 games that season.

Last season, the 5-foot-10, 170 pound forward was also named to the CCHL high school All-Academic All-Star team.

The Silverbacks would like to welcome Julian to Salmon Arm!
