The Salmon Arm Silverbacks are proud to annouce that Taro Hirose from Calgary, AB has choosen the Michigan State Spartans for his college hockey career that will start with the 2016-2017 season.
"I'm really excited to become a spartan in 2016/2017. I would not have been able to achieve this without the help of my family, my teammates and the silverbacks organization" stated Taro
"As an organization we are very happy for Taro and his family" stated Head Coach Brandon West. Taro is a dynamic offensive forward who will be a fan favorite again this coming year and we are very proud of him.
Silverbacks fans will have one more year to watch Taro continue to dazzle on the ice and build on his 50 point season from last year where he was the Backs leading scorer.
