SilverBacks Add Offensive Threat

The Salmon Arm SilverBacks are pleased to announce the acquisition of 18 year old Forward Max Becker from the Penticton Vees, in exchange for Future Considerations.

Becker, a 5'10, 180lbs native of Orange, California, played three games with the Penticton Vees to begin his Rookie BCHL campaign, before the trade that will see him join the SilverBacks immediately.

'Backs Head Coach and General Manager Troy Mick says Becker; who is committed to Princeton University for next season, has shown his potential to make plays and provide offensive input "His 120 points over the past two seasons with the Shattucks St. Mary's High School program shows us that he has the potential to be a big name player for our club, and we're very happy to acquire such a competitor at this early point in the season."

That wasn't the only move of the day for the SilverBacks, who sent 18 year old Forward Harlan Orr to the Alberni Valley Bulldogs, in exchange for Future Considerations.

GM Troy Mick says it will be tough to see him go "Harlan was a go-to player for us last season; and really helped propel our club into the post-season, but this is the hardest part of the job and the organization would like to wish him the best in his future with the Bulldogs and dreams of securing an NCAA Scholarship."

Becker will join the SilverBacks this week, with plans to play on the road-trip this weekend that will see Salmon Arm visit Nanaimo, Victoria, and Chilliwack, respectively.
