The Salmon Arm SilverBacks would like to congratulate Forward Alex Gillies, who was one of nine BCHL players to be named in rankings provided by NHL Central Scouting on Thursday Morning.
Gillies is in his third season as a SilverBack, and this is the first time he has recieved this type of recognition by Central Scouting; likely thanks to his incredible start to the season that includes 17 Goals, 26 Points and a Bronze Medal from the recent World Junior 'A' Challenge in Nova Scotia.

NHL Central Scouting has released its preliminary player rankings in advance of the 2014 NHL Entry Draft and nine BCHL players are named among the 20 Canadian Junior Hockey League players listed.All of the CJHL players on the list were classed as 'C'-grade prospects meaning they would likely be selected in the fourth round or lower in the draft.
The BCHL players listed are:

- Alex Gillies, F, Salmon Arm SilverBacks
- Demico Hannoun, F, Vernon Vipers
- Hunter Miska, G, Penticton Vees
- Jack Ramsey, F, Penticton Vees
- Luke Ripley, D, Powell River Kings
- Adam Rockwood, F, Coquitlam Express
- Jeff Wight, F, Merritt Centennials
The 2014 NHL Entry Draft will be held June 27 and 28 at the Wells Fargo Centre in Philadelphia.
