Four Point Long Weekend

Two thumbs up for the Salmon Arm SilverBacks; who will throroughly enjoy their Thanksgiving Weekend after Saturday's 5-1 win in Trail.

Landon Smith and Taylor Maruya gave Salmon Arm a quick 2-0 lead on Saturday, with goals less than a minute apart; early into the 1st Period of play.

Trail cut the deficit in half on a power-play goal by Curtis Toneff, before Evan Anderson was able to score with just :13 remaining in the 1st Period to provide the 'Backs with a 3-1 lead after 20 minutes.

Alex Gillies now has 14 goals in 13 games on the season, as he scored in Saturday's 2nd Period to give Salmon Arm a 4-1 lead; Thomas Plese had the 'Backs final marker in what turned out to be a 5-1 SilverBacks triumph.

Adam Clark made 25 saves in the victory, as he and Angus Redmond split this weekend's duties.

Captain Blake Box was named 3rd Star after posting two assists in the contest; the game also saw two fights, as both Jack Berezan and Mitch Ferguson dropped the gloves for Salmon Arm.

The 'Backs are on the ice again next Friday, in Merritt.
