‘Backs Split Weekend Games At Home

The 'Back's three game winning streak is over, following Vernon's 3-2 win at the Shaw Centre on Saturday Evening.

Salmon Arm led Vernon by a score of 2-0, until the 5 minute mark of the 3rd Period, when the Vipers exploded for three goals in a mere :46 seconds – which was enough to give them the win against a 'Backs team that wasn't able to even the score, despite late chances.

Alex Gillies and Taylor Maruya had the 'Backs goals on Saturday, with Gillies scoring on the power-play and Maruya scoring on the penalty-kill.

Vernon's Danny Todosychuk earned the win, after the Vipers Austin Smith left the game in the 1st Period; while Adam Clark was good for 24 saves on the Night in the 'Backs net.

Salmon Arm's best chance to put a dagger in the Vipers hopes came late in the 2nd Period, with a full two minutes on a two-man advantage, but the cross-bar was as close as they were able to come on that glorious opportunity.

The 'Backs now prepare for the Trail Smoke Eaters on Thursday, before travelling to Trail on Friday.
